Corica Park, Alameda, California
Golf.com refers to the new Corica Park as a “Startling Renovation.” Named the 12th Best Public Course in America in 2021 by Golf Digest and the Best Municipal Course Renovation of 2018 by Golf Magazine.
Rees Jones and Marc Logan, who Mr. Jones calls “The Best Agronomist in America today”, have transformed this golf course into public golf heaven inspired by celebrated golf courses such as Royal Melbourne, and Kingston Heath.
Marc was the man behind the scenes working with Rees Jones to transform the south course into an Australian Sandbelt playground. For the north course, Marc sought inspiration from the natural contours and large greens of the Old Course at St Andrews.
With a focus on sustainability and water preservation, Corica Park has been awarded the prestigious Water & Sustainability Innovation Award by Ewing and Audubon International. Corica Park requires 60% less water than comparable sized golf courses!
To complement their sustainability efforts and to reduce overall bunker related maintenance costs, Ecobunker was selected to add exceptional style, dimension, and contouring with near zero maintenance and permanency.
“I would recommend any club looking to improve their bunkers and to reduce their long term maintenance costs to consider Ecobunker™” – Marc Logan, Golf Course Designer, Greenway Golf Chief Agronomist

I’m currently completing a design build in Alameda California and have used Ecobunker on the North course construction. I wanted to find a product that was durable and looked natural but didn’t want to use real turf as you have to continually rebuild reveted bunkers made with natural turf, that’s an expensive process. Cost stabilization is an important consideration for all golf courses and Ecobunker has helped achieve this with our bunkers as part of our new golf course project. I would recommend any club looking to improve there bunkers and wanting to help reduce long term maintenance costs to consider Ecobunker
